Founded in 1960, the Mental Health Center of East Central Kansas (MHCECK) is licensed by the
State of Kansas to operate as a community mental health center (CMHC) and as a certified
alcohol / drug safety action program.
We serve citizens who live in the following counties: Chase, Coffey,
Greenwood, Lyon, Morris, Osage, and Wabaunsee.
Fees are based on household income and number
of dependents in the home. Commercial insurance, Medicaid (HealthWave19 and HealthWave21), the
HCBS/SED Medicaid Waiver, Medicare, and other forms of third party payments are accepted.
Payment is expected at the time of service, unless other arrangements have been made.
The types of providers we employ include: psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, psychologists, clinical social workers, substance abuse counselors, marriage/family therapists, professional counselors, prevention consultants, case managers, attendant care workers, a parent support coordinator, wrap-around planners, peer support workers, interns, and others.
The Center employs approximately 170 persons, and operates on an annual expense budget of $8,000,000. The Center is governed by a volunteer board of directors.
