COMMUNITY SUPPORT SERVICES THERAPIST position working with adult clients in an outpatient setting. The position will provide individual therapy; conduct clinical intake assessments at the time of clients' intake to program; design and implement a comprehensive plan of care for clients; collaborate with agency staff and community service providers to coordinate referrals and delivery of services; complete discharge procedures for clients who have terminated treatment services; and produce psychological evaluations including conducting an evaluation interview with client and creating a psychological evaluation report summarizing the psychological testing results with data obtained from the client interview.

 

This position will work in Lyon County. The Community Support Services Therapist position reports to the Community Support Services Director. 

 

Behavioral Health Therapist Requirements:

 

  • Candidates must have a minimum of Master's Degree in psychology or closely related field.  
  • Must hold licensure with the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board. If candidate is eligible for licensure with the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board, they must obtain license before the Center will offer a Therapist position.  
  • Licensure at the clinical level is preferred. (LSCSW or LP LICENSE is preference).
  • Possess the ability to work with adults with severe and persistent mental illness.  
  • A minimum of one year work experience in the human services field is desirable, but not required.  
  • Travel is required. Therapist must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, current vehicle insurance, and a motor vehicle record with acceptable results.

ATTENDANT CARE WORKER (PART-TIME)
positions available. The duties of the position include providing quality one to one direct support and supervision to child or adult clients with the intent to assist individuals in accomplishing daily living activities and teaching individuals to live independently in community settings, collaborating with client and agency staff to coordinate services, and maintaining a safe and productive environment during the time spent with client. Workers may transport individuals to and/or from various locations as required by specific work assignment.

Persons will need to attend meetings held one evening per month in Emporia, Kansas. The Attendant Care Worker position reports to the Attendant Care Specialist.
 

Attendant Care Worker Requirements


  • The successful candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and one year college coursework in the human services field OR one year experience in the human services field.
  • Candidate must be minimum of 20 years of age.
  • Possess the ability to work with persons with severe emotional disturbance and severe and persistent mental illness.
  • Travel is required. Worker must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, current vehicle insurance, and a motor vehicle record with acceptable results.
  • Must have satisfactory results from criminal history screening, SRS child abuse registry check, adult abuse registry check, and motor vehicle screening.
 
This is a part-time position and no Center benefits apply.

ADVANCED REGISTERED NURSE PRACTITIONER

ADVANCE PRACTICE REGISTERED NURSE position serving both adults and children in an outpatient psychiatric medication clinic of psychiatrists and nursing staff. This position provides direct services to clients in an effort to maintain medication compliance and mental and physical health stability, prescribes psychotropic medications under the supervision of the Medical Director, and communicates necessary referrals within the department and agency.

 

** NO REQUIREMENT FOR ON-CALL STATUS OR WEEKEND WORK. **

 

The position is based in Emporia, Kansas and some travel is required. The Advance Practice Registered Nurse will report to the Medical Director.

 

 Nurse Practitioner Requirements:

  • Candidates must have a Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing as minimum requirement.

 

  • Must hold licensure as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Kansas and hold practitioner certification with the Drug Enforcement Administration.

 

  • Candidate must hold certification as Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with American Nurses Credentialing Center as the minimum required.

 

  • Possess the ability to work with persons with serious emotional disturbance and/or severe and persistent mental illness.

 

  • A minimum of one-year work experience in the psychiatric nursing field is desirable, but not required.

CHILDREN'S THERAPIST AT DIRECTIONS ACADEMY position working with youth from pre-school to high school students in a school-based program. The position will provide individual, family and group therapy; conduct clinical intake assessments at the time of clients' intake to program; design and implement a comprehensive plan of care for clients; collaborate with agency staff and community service providers to coordinate referrals and delivery of services; and complete discharge procedures for clients who have terminated treatment services.

 

This is a school-based position. The position will work within the schools in Osage City. Children's Therapist at Directions Academy position reports to the School-Based Mental Health Director.
