PSYCHIATRIST position serving both adults and children in an outpatient psychiatric medication clinic of psychiatrists and nursing staff. This position provides direct psychiatric medical services in the assessment and diagnosis of physical and psychological health conditions of child and adult clients, prescribes psychotropic medications and provides medication management services, communicates necessary referrals within the department and agency, and designs and delivers effective teaching strategies in teaching clients to assume responsibility related to self-care and medication compliance.

** THERE IS NO REQUIREMENT FOR ON-CALL STATUS OR WEEKEND WORK. **


The position is based in Emporia, Kansas. The Psychiatrist will report to the Medical Director.


Psychiatrist Requirements:


  • Candidates must have a Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited school as minimum requirement.

  • Must hold licensure to practice medicine with the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts and hold practitioner certification with the Drug Enforcement Administration.

  • Possess the ability to work with persons with serious emotional disturbance and/or severe and persistent mental illness.

  • A minimum of one-year work experience in the psychiatric field is desirable, but not required.

    CHILDREN'S CASE MANAGER positions assisting children in achieving individualized treatment, recovery, and personal growth goals through delivery of case management services. Duties include providing individual case management to children, working as part of a treatment team, identifying appropriate community resources, and maintaining accurate records.

    COORDINATOR OF JOURNEY PROGRAM / CHILDREN'S THERAPIST

    COORDINATOR OF JOURNEY PROGRAM / CHILDREN'S THERAPIST position working with youth from pre-school to high school students in a school-based program. The position will provide individual, family and group therapy; conduct clinical intake assessments at the time of clients' intake to program; design and implement a comprehensive plan of care for clients; collaborate with agency staff and community service providers to coordinate referrals and delivery of services; and complete discharge procedures for clients who have terminated treatment services. The position is responsible for direct supervision of case management staff and management of the program's resources and programs. The Coordinator reports to the Care Team Manager of School-Based Services.

    This program is located at Burlingame School in Burlingame, Kansas (30 miles south of Topeka).


    Behavioral Health Therapist / Program Coordinator Requirements:

  • Candidates must have a minimum of Master's Degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, professional counseling, or closely related field.
  • Must hold licensure with the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board. If candidate is eligible for licensure with the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board, they must obtain license before the Center will offer a Therapist position.
  • Licensure at the clinical level is preferred. (LSCSW or LP LICENSE is preference).
  • Possess the ability to work with children with serious emotional disturbance.
  • A minimum of one year work experience in the human services field is desirable, but not required.
  • Prior work experience as a manager or supervisor is preferred.
  • Travel is required. Coordinator/Therapist must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, current vehicle insurance, and a motor vehicle record with acceptable results.

    This position is part-time and as-needed to interpret for Spanish-speaking clients. The successful candidate must have the ability to comprehend, speak, read, and write Spanish and English fluently and have the ability to maintain confidentiality.     WRAPAROUND FACILITATOR

    WRAPAROUND FACILITATOR position assisting clients in achieving individualized treatment, recovery, and personal growth goals through delivery of SED waiver services. The position will work with child clients who have serious emotional disturbance, usually from 4 to 18 years of age, and their families. Duties include providing direct waiver and case management services to child clients, scheduling and facilitating wraparound meetings with the Wraparound Team, supporting family members of seriously emotionally disturbed children by assisting them in acquiring skills necessary to understand and address the needs of the child’s mental illness and treatment, and maintaining accurate records.

    The successful candidate must be at least 21 years of age and have a bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field. Individuals with previous case management experience preferred. Some travel is required; Wraparound Facilitator must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, current vehicle insurance, and a motor vehicle record with acceptable results. The Wraparound Facilitator position reports to the Community-Based Services Director.

    This is a part-time position with expectation of 20-25 work hours per week. As a part-time position, no benefits apply.
